Llanymynech 3 – O Worthen

A great game of football, with Llanymynech showing some great passing play. This was rewarded with a fine ball over the top from Harry Hudson so Zac Lennox could run on to and slide the ball past the keeper giving Llanymynech a well-deserved lead. Within 5 minutes Llanymynech were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area, Harry Hudson kicked the ball into a defender, and it came straight back to him and he drilled it low and hard into the back of the net making it 2-0 at the break.

The second half started with Llanymynech having all the play, with numerous great saves from the Worthen keeper, Alex Page hit the crossbar, and 2 minutes later followed it up with a great free kick from 30 yards into the top left corner giving Llanymynech a third. Despite tired legs on the pitch it was a good game with Llanymynech finishing the better team to win 3-0.

There were several great performances on the pitch, Tomos Horn in goal, Matt Hughes, Alex Page and Antione McArdle in defence, but it was a tight run decision for Man of the Match between Harry Hudson sterling performance in mid-field, and Zac Lennox for his fantastic runs through the Worthen defence. After much discussion from the management team Harry Hudson was awarded Man of the Match.
